Hidden Pearl
Maine, USA
Hidden Pearl sits on an inland subdivision lot with space, perimeter, second growth trees and a moderate slope. Lacking a singular exterior view and with close proximity to neighboring homes, a primary goal was to create an efficient oasis, with its own special outdoor space as focal point.

The owner of Hidden Pearl has lived and worked as a builder in New England for many years. After spotting this landlocked, relatively open, subdivision lot with nice light and some mature, perimeter, trees at a good price, he thought he could make a gem within the rough. With kids and partners and expanding families, he wanted a destination home with flexibility to accommodate multiple couples and family groups. The design began with a desire for extreme flexibility of family and rental use, with a main living wing, primary bedroom/1st guest apartment wing, and garage/2nd guest apartment wing.
