Corduroy House
Massachusetts, USA
The site for Corduroy House is landlocked and densely wooded with beautifully sculptural Scrub Oak. Technically a renovation, because there was an existing, tiny, 12’-26’, structure on the property, which the buyer recognized as a huge opportunity, since all of the necessary utilities were already run to that structure. What developed from that was a large addition and repurposing of the existing building.

Primarily laid out on one level, the design for the new renovation developed with a new 40’ square, single story structure housing a new living/dining/kitchen space as well as a bathroom and 2 bedrooms, while a virtually all glass entry acts as a connector to the original structure, which was repurposed as a primary bedroom suite.
